  • SAN DIEGO COMIC CON WAS AWESOME! WE SOLD OUT OF OUR BOOKS AND SOME OF OUR FLOPPY COMICS! READ ABOUT IT IN ERIC'S BLOG POST! AT THIS RATE, WE'LL SELL THE LAST OF OUR CARPE CHAOS: IGNITION BOOKS AT APE IN OCTOBER!

  • I WAS INTERVIEWED ON BUYINDIECOMICS.COM! AM I INTERESTING? CLICK THIS LINK TO FIND OUT!

  • ALLCAPS MODE, DEACTIVATE! Chapter 4 of Transmissions from Fara Nexa is coming soon. The first page should be posted either Monday or Tuesday of next week. Probably Tuesday. But the sad news is that we are slowing our release rate to 1-2 pages per week for the foreseeable future. Please don't think that Carpe Chaos is ending or anything like that. It's just that we've been pushing ourselves for over two years to post (on average) more than a page every two days and because this project hasn't caught fire in the way that we'd hoped, we're slowing down to reclaim a bit of our personal lives :-). Thank you for being a fan of Carpe Chaos up to now and I hope you'll stay with us because we've got some crazy awesome things planned for Transmissions Volume 2, more suspense-filled mystery in Skies are Falling, and even more stories on the horizon. And hopefully some more free wallpapers :-)
  • And because that means you'll probably be checking our site less often, I really hope that you'll consider adding your email address into the form below, so that any time a new chapter is completed or this blog is updated, you'll get an email to notify you. It's a surefire way to keep up on Carpe Chaos, and it'll make sure you're covered in case you miss a tweet, facebook post, google+ post, deviantart update, etc. And you'll want to know when we launch our second-try kickstarter campaign next year, right?!

Carpe Chaos News Roundup (March 14th, 2012)

MY PRECIOUS FEW BLOG READERS: I HAVE TWO URGENT NEWS ITEMS FOR YOU!

  • Our Kickstarter campaign is ⅔ over but not even at ⅓ of the required funding. As I write this we're sitting at 29% and I'm hoping that you guys will be able to help. Please tell your friends about the Kickstarter campaign! The book will be so amazing if we get the chance to make it!
  • WonderCon starts Friday in Anaheim and I will be there all 3 days at small press table 59. Eric will be joining me on Saturday too. I'll be selling all the same stuff PLUS our 6 wallpapers as posters and all four chapters of Jailing Fortune in print! If you go, come see me for a free papercraft model! We have a Kaean one now too :-)

And now for your regularly scheduled news bulletins:

  • In addition to the Graphicly apps, our entire Jailing Fortune story is now available for Android phones and the Barnes & Noble Nook directly. Pretty cool, right? And only $2.99. If we sell a significant amount, we'll consider publishing more of our comics this way. Here are the links:
  • Midigan Chapter 4 and Unwelcome Emissary haven't been added to Graphicly yet. But they will both be there in a few days, hopefully!
  • The final part of my making comics checklist was posted to MakingComics.com last month. Here's the article!
  • We've started Transmissions, which is really big news. Unlike all of our stories so far, Transmissions is huge. The first volume will be 4 chapters, and then following volume 1 we'll dive into volume 2 and then 3. Anthony Cournoyer is rocking it harder than he's ever rocked it before, and the story is full of gun battles, spaceship wars, and oh-so-much suspense. This is the blockbuster Carpe Chaos story we've been planning for a long time, so check it out! Chapter 1 finishes at the end of this month and then we'll be posting chapter 2 right away during April!
  • Do you remember all those Carpe Chaos wallpapers we gave you for Christmas? Now you can get some physical copies! We've turned all 6 of them into posters and they are now live in our web store in the Posters category. Here's the link.
  • I must mention our Kickstarter campaign again. Please help us spread the word! Here are some of the blogs that have featured us so far:

I've been posting updates to the Kickstarter campaign with additional artwork, messages from the artists that work on Carpe Chaos, and more. One particularly cool update included a video of Eric interview footage that didn't make the final video cut:

If there's anything you can do to help us spread the word about our Kickstarter before it expires, please help! Thank you!

Carpe Chaos News Roundup (August 6th, 2011)

Hey everybody! I've got some news for you....

  • Midigan Chapter 2 made it into Graphicly last week! You can find it here: http://graphicly.com/carpe-chaos/carpe-chaos-midigan/2
  • And of course, Midigan Chapter 2 finished on CarpeChaos.com on Monday, August 1st. That story will most likely resume at the beginning of October.
  • This month we're back to Jailing Fortune Chapter 3! Pieca and Fortunate have made it to the city, but now what? They may be out of the woods but they're not out of danger. The schedule for this month is to update with a new page every other day, with the chapter finishing on September 1st.
  • There's a new 22''x16'' poster for sale in the store!

Daniel Allen finished this—the third landscape in our homeworld series. You might have noticed it on display in the pictures of us from San Diego Comic Con. This one shows a couple of Kaeans and plenty of native wildlife on The Oursal, which is the planetary ring the Kaeans call home. It's available in the store for only $25! And if you want to know more about where the Kaeans come from, we have an article on our wiki that can teach you a thing or two about it.

  • I'm thinking of making some bookmarks for future shows to give away alongside our promotional card flyer things. Here are the designs I think we're gonna go with for the fronts:

Pretty cool eh? The harder part is designing the backs...

  • Speaking of future shows, APE is less than two months away! It's October 1 and 2 in San Francisco and I'll be there, selling comics and handing out Papercraft sheets. You can always keep up on what shows we'll be at by checking the Conventions page. I hope you can make it out!
